Pearce stars in Adelaide derby

Port Adelaide star Danyle Pearce grabbed best on ground honours during Port's sweet victory over archrivals Adelaide yesterday.
The Powers 92 to 80 win effectively ends the Crows chances of snatching fourth spot and also pushes them out of the top eight.
Pearce's medal-winning form was on show early when he snapped brilliantly late in the first quarter to give Port a 15-point lead. He then produced a similar effort in the second quarter as both teams went tit-for-tat in goal scoring.
Daniel Motlop was also among the Powers best as they eventually broke clear of the Crows and staved off a late comeback. Motlop kicked four goals in total including a late game breaker which pushed the lead out to 19 points.
Returning from season interrupting knee surgery, Andrew McLeod struggled throughout the match and the Crows now head to Sydney for a must win encounter to keep their season on track.
